LGBT housing advice services

As well as the council's general housing advice services, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LBGT) community and partner organisations provide a range of specialist help, support and advice services.

Gender Trust - Information and support for transsexual people, their families and partners.

Clare Project - aims to provide a safe and confidential place for people to explore issues surrounding their gender identity.

FTM Brighton: a group for trans men in Brighton and the surrounding area. For anyone who identifies on the trans-masculine spectrum.

Allsortsyouth: a project based in Brighton to support and empower young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* or unsure (LGBTU) of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

MindOut: is a mental health service run by and for LGBTQ people. They provide a range of services including advocacy, advice and information, peer support groups, peer mentoring, suicide prevention, mental health promotion, anti-stigma events, mental health and LGBTQ-related workshops and courses. Mindout also has an online support service. Their services are free, confidential, independent and impartial.​

Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard: a community organisation providing services for and by the LGBT community.

We've also produced a housing advice guide guide for members of the Trans community setting out their rights if they face discrimination, harassment, illegal eviction or transphobic hate crimes or incidents.
