Wormeries are small contained units that make compost and liquid fertiliser using worms. As they are so small they can be kept in a garage, shed or even on a balcony.
They can be used all year round and can take cooked and uncooked:
- meat
- dairy products
- fruit and vegetables (except citrus fruit and onions)
- garden waste
- paper and cardboard

Standard composter
Lots of garden waste? Get a standard composter.
Standard composters take garden waste and some uncooked food and turn it into compost. They are perfect if you produce a large amount of garden or green waste.
They can be used all year round and can take:
- garden waste, including grass cuttings, leaves, weeds and twigs
- uncooked fruit and vegetable scraps
- tea bags and coffee grounds
- egg shells
- paper and cardboard
