Brighton & Hove local elections – Thursday 2 May 2019

You can no longer register to vote in the 2 May elections. The deadline to register to vote in the local elections has passed.

Local elections are taking place in Brighton & Hove on Thursday 2 May to elect 54 ward councillors

Polls will be open from 7am until 10pm. You must go to your allocated polling station.

To vote in the local election you must be:

  • registered to vote by 12 April
  • a resident in Brighton & Hove
  • aged 18 and over (16 or over to register)
  • one of the following nationalities; British, Irish, Commonwealth, all EU countries, Malta, Cyprus and British Dependent Territories

Key dates

  • Friday 12 April: Last day to register to vote
  • Monday 15 April (5pm): Last day for us to receive your postal vote application
  • Wednesday 24 April (5pm): Last day for us to receive your proxy vote application
  • Thursday 2 May: Polls are open from 7am until 10pm
