Trans equality scrutiny panel (2013)
Trans people suffer discrimination in accessing services and have particular vulnerabilities in relation to safety and welfare. They were asked to share their experiences to help inform recommendations for action.
The panel looked at issues faced by trans people who work, socialise or study in Brighton & Hove. Co-ordinator for the LGBT Health and Inclusion Project Nick Douglas assisted the panel.
The panel visited support groups Clare Project, MindOut, FTM and Transformers and set up public meetings.
