What the Health and Safety Team do
The Health and Safety and team monitors and advises on health and safety legislation in over 9,000 work premises in Brighton & Hove. Businesses are inspected to ensure that employees and visiting public are kept safe while on the premises. They are also responsible for investigating some accidents in the work place.

All complaints are confidential and our aim is to investigate and resolve your complaint in an efficient and thorough manner. A named officer who is competent to investigate health and safety complaints will investigate the complaint on your behalf.
Where Brighton & Hove City Council is not the appropriate enforcing authority, we will refer the complaint on your behalf.

How long it takes to get a response
Once the department has received your query a service request will be raised for an officer to investigate, who will respond within the following timescales.
