About the Brighton Marina redevelopment

The outer harbour area of Brighton Marina is allocated in City Plan Part 1 as part of the wider gasworks and Black Rock site for significant mixed-use redevelopment.  

Part of this site has already been developed with the construction of 195 flats, with restaurants and shops below. This was to be Phase 1 of a three-phase development, but the remaining phases have not yet been built out. An application for a revised development of Phases 2 and 3 was refused on appeal in 2020.  

Negotiations are ongoing to bring forward a high quality, mixed-use development on this site.
