About 43 A, B and C, Manor Hill
A converted house on this site was previously used by the council as office space.
Under the Hidden Homes scheme the existing building was repurposed to create 2 two bedroom flats.
A new 2 bedroom house adjoining the side of the existing property was also built, providing 3 new homes for much needed general housing in the city.
The 3 homes are well insulated. The design includes solar panels on both the existing building and the new house that feed directly into the tenants' homes.
Residents in the house also benefit from an air source heat pump. This is another contribution towards achieving our carbon neutral targets.
What's happening now
Work was completed in May 2023. Advertising for tenants began in May 2023 and the properties were all let by June 2023.
Project history
The property was originally a house. The site was then used by the council as additional office space.
Planning permission was applied for and approved following an extended public consultation with residents and the local community.
Engagement and consultation
Residents and businesses in the local area were consulted on the change of use to the site and the proposals to make it into general housing in 2020 and 2021.
