Public consultation on the proposed Main Modifications ended on 5 May. We are now processing the submitted comments which will be sent to the Inspector for her to consider.
Public Consultation on the proposed Main Modifications to the City Plan Part Two starts today and will run to 11:59pm Thursday 5 May 2022.

Following the hearing sessions, the Inspector issued her post hearing action points (INSP09). She is considering whether a number of changes (or Main Modifications) to the Plan are needed.
The 10 March Tourism, Equalities, Communities & Culture Committee (TECC) will be asked to approve public consultation on these Main Modifications.
Subject to this approval, a 7 week period of consultation will begin 17 March 2022.

Printed copies of certain submission documents are now available to view at the city libraries.

Inspector Ms R Barrett, MRTPI IHBC has been appointed by the Secretary of State to hold an independent examination of the City Plan Part 2.
Examination hearings will begin on Tuesday 2 November. They will take place online via Teams, and last about two weeks.
The Programme Officer will circulate to representors a draft programme, the Inspector’s Matters, Issues and Questions (MIQs) and the Guidance Note for the Examination in due course. We will publish the documents on this website when they're available.
The council submitted the Proposed Submission City Plan Part 2 together with the supporting documents, to the Secretary of State for examination, in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
The formal notice of submission sets out where the Proposed Submission City Plan Part 2 and supporting documents are available to view. You can find the formal notice of submission (SD15) with the rest of the submission documents.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions we cannot, at this time, make printed copies of submission documents available to view at the customer service points or any of the city libraries. However, this will be done as soon as circumstances allow. This is explained in more detail in the formal notice.
The council has appointed a Programme Officer for the examination.
The Programme Officer is independent from the council and reports directly to the Inspector.
The Programme Officer is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the examination and will act as a channel of communication between the Inspector and all parties, including the council officers and representors.
