The Big BikeShare giveaway - 1,000 free bike share passes

Date of event: 18 to 26 September

Location: Across Brighton & Hove

This Car Free Day, we're offering residents and visitors a free pass on the city’s bike share scheme. We’ll cover the unlock fee and a one-hour ride for you to try a cycle around the city, whether for work or leisure.

You’ll need to sign up in advance to one of our memberships using your bank guarantee card. We will take a £1 deposit which you can spend later on rides. You will then be able access the free unlock and one-hour ride using the code CFD2021.

1,000 passes will be available from 18 to 26 September on a first come, first served basis. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

There have been almost 1.4 million journeys made since we launched BTN BikeShare in 2017. This makes it one of the most successful bike share schemes in the UK.

With more than 550 bikes at over 80 hubs around the city, it’s an ideal way to travel for residents and visitors.

BTN BikeShare was Highly commended for Excellence in the Walking and Cycling Award at the 2019 National Transport Awards.

We've seen people cycle more than 3 million miles in less than 4 years. Cycling is still a popular choice for people travelling to and from work.We will reorganise the BTN BikeShare by the end of 2022, and will renew and expand the fleet to 780 bikes.

50% of these bikes will be e-bikes (electric bikes), enlarging the hub network to become city-wide.

Adur & Worthing Councils plan to join BTN BikeShare. They will add 38 hubs and 322 bikes, to create an even wider range for users to travel further and in a sustainable way.
