Wedding and civil partnership ceremonies - lockdown information
If you (or anyone in your household) is showing any symptoms including a fever and/or a continuous cough, do not visit the Register Office.
Weddings and civil partnerships must only take place in exceptional circumstances, for example urgent marriages where one of those getting married is seriously ill and not expected to recover, or due to undergo debilitating treatment or life-changing surgery. These are limited to 6 people.
All ceremonies up to and including 18 February are cancelled. This is the next formal review date set by the government. We are sorry if your ceremony is affected and will reschedule your ceremony free of charge to a similar slot from April onwards unless you have ‘exceptional circumstances’ as described above.
Our team will contact you if you are affected.
It is anticipated that restrictions will apply at least to the end of March and we recommend that if your ceremony is before April that you reschedule to later in the year. Please contact us if you wish to reschedule.
We are accepting new ceremony bookings from May onwards. If you wish to book a ceremony or discuss your plans, phone 01273 292 016 and select option 2 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Notices of marriage or civil partnership
We are currently taking notices of marriage only for couples who have a ceremony booked within the next 3 months.
If you are subject to immigration and need to give notice at a designated register office please follow government guidelines on unnecessary travel and contact your nearest designated office for an appointment.
