COVID-19 update: with effect from 2nd December 2020

Brighton Town Hall

Below are the current restrictions for ceremonies at Brighton Town Hall.

Regency Room

  • 10 people maximum including the couple, witnesses and photographer
  • The ceremony is required to be short and simple. We regret that we are not currently able to include readings or other enhancements.
  • Please ask your guests to wear face coverings, unless they are exempt from wearing one. The bride and groom do not need to wear a face covering
  • Please bring your own device to play your chosen music. We have a bluetooth speaker available.

Council Chamber

  • 15 people maximum. This number includes the couple, witnesses and guests, but not the registrars and photographer.
  • The ceremony is required to be short and simple. We regret that we are not currently able to include readings or other enhancements.
  • Please ask your guests to wear face coverings, unless they are exempt from wearing one. The bride and groom do not need to wear a face covering. 
  • Please bring your own device to play your chosen music. We have a bluetooth speaker available.

There is currently no facility for ceremony attendees to wait inside the Town Hall, so please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your ceremony and wrap up warm. Your registrar will greet you outside the building.

Approved venues

Latest Government guidelines state that a maximum 15 people may attend a marriage or civil partnership where this can be safely accommodated with social distancing.  Please speak to each individual licensed venue for the number they can safely accommodate.
