What rooms you can hire in Brighton Town Hall
Brighton Town Hall was built between 1830 and 1832. It is a grade lI listed building. It has giant fluted Ionic columns that form porticoes. You can hold your ceremony in one of the three beautiful ceremony rooms:
- the Regency Room
- the Fitzherbert Room
- the Council Chamber
The Regency Room
The Regency Room is where most of our ceremonies take place. It is tastefully decorated with heritage colours, antique furniture and crystal chandeliers. The Regency Room can hold up to 50 guests (34 seated).
The Fitzherbert Room
The Fitzherbert Room is next to the Regency Room. It is for couples who would like a more intimate ceremony. The Fitzherbert Room can hold up to 8 guests.
The Regency Suite
The Regency Suite comprises of the Regency Room and the Fitzherbert Room.
The Council Chamber
Our largest room is located on the second floor of the town Hall. The Council Chamber can hold up to 120 guests.
Old Police Cells Museum
For a more unusual wedding venue, you can hire the old police cells in the basement of Brighton Town Hall.
The Old Police Cells Museum can hold up to 30 guests.

Book web streaming
The Regency Room offers an online 'wedcast' service. You can invite virtual guests via your own unique link.
- your ceremony will be live for 45 minutes during your ceremony
- you will be able to view your wedding ceremony for 6 weeks
- a podcast is produced. It will be available to download as an MP4 file. This can be viewed using media players, mobile devices and PCs.
How we make things easier for you
At Brighton Town Hall, we have the following:
- disabled toilet
- baby changing
- wheelchair accessible entrance
- hearing loop (in the Regency and Fitzpatrick Rooms)
- ear piece (in the Council Chamber)
The Council Chamber is located on the second floor. Please contact the service if you or your guests cannot use the stairs.
Parking at Brighton Town Hall
The nearest car park is The Lanes car park.
If you would like to park a wedding car outside Brighton Town Hall, you will need to contact the security staff.
