Anyone can apply for a copy of a marriage or civil partnership certificate if the ceremony took place in Brighton & Hove or Steyning as long as you know some important information about the ceremony:
- date of marriage or civil partnership
- venue of marriage or civil partnership
- full name of both partners at the time of the marriage or civil partnership
- any other surname used before the marriage or civil partnership
- address of both partners (if you are applying for a copy of a civil partnership certificate)
What are our costs and fees
Our standard service costs £11. Certificates will be issued after 15 working days by second class post
We also offer a 24 hour priority service if you require a certificate urgently. This costs £35.
Priority applications must be made by midday for next day delivery.
