Council telephone systems
We are moving to a new telephone system. This may cause some initial issues and disruption to calls while it is being set up. If you have any issues, you may wish to call back at another time. We appreciate your patience whilst the new system is implemented and apologise for any disruption that you may experience.
Weekly Housing Benefit rates for private tenants
Find out how we use Local Housing Allowance rates to work out your Housing Benefit, and which rate applies to you
Local Housing Allowance
Local Housing Allowance rates for 2025 to 2026 will be maintained at the 2024 to 2025 levels, following their increase in April 2024.
The government sets Local Housing Allowance rates, and we use these to work out your Housing Benefit.
Your Local Housing Allowance rate is based on:
the area you live in
the rent rates being paid by other private tenants in the area
the number of bedrooms you can have in your property
You can use the bedroom calculator to find out how many bedrooms you can have.
