Before your inspection
If your plot is too large for you to manage, we could split it into two half sized plots. Please send an email to allotments@brighton-hove.gov.uk, and speak to your site representative if you’d like to arrange this.
If you’re unable to remove large trees or overgrown hedging before your inspection, let your site representative or the Allotments Service know.
If you’re unable to manage your plot due to health issues please tell us before your inspection. We will take this into account when we visit your site.
Extra time can be arranged for tenants to move large quantities of waste. Please request this before your inspection.
After your inspection
If you’ve received a notice, but you're struggling to do the work required to pass the re-inspection, you could:
If you want to request more time before your plot is re-inspected, you’ll need to have exceptional circumstances, like a medical condition or a family bereavement.
Visiting all the sites across the city takes a lot of time, so please let your site representative know your situation as soon as possible.
