Find local groups and activities
Find local support groups, activities and day centres on our Health and Adult Social Care directory.
Many of the activities listed are run by voluntary and community groups. They are often low cost or free.
Some care homes also offer breaks, meals and activities.
If you can't get to the library, we can deliver books, CD's and DVD's. To find out more, phone 01273 294 599 or send an email to libraries@brighton-hove.gov.uk
If you look after someone, it’s important that you get a break. Local activities for you, or the person you look after, can give you that break.
How to improve your health and wellbeing
If you want to stay active, and improve your health and wellbeing, our Healthy Lifestyle team can help.
If you want to go to a leisure centre and you get benefits, you might get a discount. Find out how to apply for a leisure card and get discounts at some local leisure centres.
Get transport to and from your activities
If you find it difficult to get out and about, there are transport services that can help. It’s worth asking your activity organiser if they provide transport first.
If the organisers of the activity don't provide transport, find out how to get help getting around the city.
You normally have to pay for transport.
Keep in touch with people if you can’t get out
If you can't get out easily, a befriending service could help you socialise. Together Co can help you find services to make new friendships and keep in touch.
If you'd like to learn how to keep in touch with people using Skype, Digital Brighton and Hove can help.
