Charges for community care services including homecare
How we calculate charges for people receiving care and support in the community, in their own home.
Paying for care
Most people have to pay towards their community care. The amount you pay depends on your circumstances.
We work out how much you'll pay by carrying out a financial assessment. We call the amount you pay your ‘client contribution’.
It’s important to give full and accurate details of your finances, so you pay a fair amount.
Community services
Community services that need a financial assessment include:
- home Care
- day Care
- Direct Payments
- community support and outreach services
- Money Management
- adaptations over £1,000
- Shared Lives accommodation
- Supported Accommodation
Making your own arrangements
You can choose not to have a financial assessment, but you will pay the full cost of care yourself.
If you have savings over £23,250 and would prefer to arrange care yourself, you can find approved care and support services.
