Brighton and Hove Young Peoples Outreach

A local floating support service that helps 16- 25 year olds who have become homeless and have been given independent accommodation through the council or through children services. The support offered is person centred and can last up to a year. They work with young people with different backgrounds, needs and circumstances such as young families, care leavers, and young people with little support networks.

How to access the service:


  • Self-referrals are accepted from young people over the phone

  • Referrals from professionals are also welcome

  • Priority is given to Brighton and Hove City Council Housing Departments, Children Services, as well as any partner organisations listed on the Brighton & Hove housing or accommodation pathway

  • They aim to acknowledge referrals within 24 hours if the client is in crisis or within 48 hours for standard support

Brighton Homeless Service

A local service providing first aid and primary health care to homeless and vulnerably housed people in Brighton and Hastings. They train both homeless people and those affected by drugs and alcohol in basic first aid skills, and also offer training to frontline workers in first aid treatment for problems associated with homelessness such as drug overdoses.


A national organisation that supports people to work their way out of homelessness, providing meaningful work as well as a stable home for as long as someone needs it. They work together to make a contribution to the community. This restores self-esteem and helps companions to find a positive way to move on with their lives.

Homeless Link

A national organisation that provides access to up to date information on homelessness, including good practice toolkits, the latest research, sector news and policy updates. They also pilot new approaches to tackling homelessness and supports staff to improve their skills through training.

Just Life

Working with people who are close to the streets. They aim to make people's experience of housing vulnerability as short, safe and healthy as possible. Their frontline services have a dual strategy: to prevent people falling into homelessness and to progress those who are homeless towards and into safe, healthy and stable lifestyles.
