Health and Adult Social Care

A national charity for teenage relatives and friends of alcoholics. Alateen is part of Al-Anon. Alateen meetings are attended by 12-17 year olds. Meeting to share their experiences of having, or having had, a problem drinker in their lives . They help and support each other.

Albion in the Community

The local charitable arm of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. They are working across Sussex to help make sport accessible for all, tackle inequality, improve health and education, and provide opportunities.

Amaze

A local charity that provides support to families and carers of children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities in Brighton and Hove. They also offer independent support services to young people up until their 25th birthday.

Brighton and Hove Young Peoples Outreach

A local floating support service that helps 16- 25 year olds who have become homeless and have been given independent accommodation through the council or through children services. The support offered is person centred and can last up to a year. They work with young people with different backgrounds, needs and circumstances such as young families, care leavers, and young people with little support networks.

How to access the service:

     

  • Self-referrals are accepted from young people over the phone
  •  

  • Referrals from professionals are also welcome
  •  

  • Priority is given to Brighton and Hove City Council Housing Departments, Children Services, as well as any partner organisations listed on the Brighton & Hove housing or accommodation pathway
  •  

  • They aim to acknowledge referrals within 24 hours if the client is in crisis or within 48 hours for standard support
  •
