A national charity for teenage relatives and friends of alcoholics. Alateen is part of Al-Anon. Alateen meetings are attended by 12-17 year olds. Meeting to share their experiences of having, or having had, a problem drinker in their lives . They help and support each other.

The local charitable arm of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. They are working across Sussex to help make sport accessible for all, tackle inequality, improve health and education, and provide opportunities.

A local project that aims to support and empower young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or unsure (LGBTU) of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

A local charity that provides support to families and carers of children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities in Brighton and Hove. They also offer independent support services to young people up until their 25th birthday.

A service offering a wide range of information and advice to families and young people including an online directory.

This service works with young people, their families and other relevant professionals. They offer support and supervision to young people involved in the Criminal Justice System and preventative work for children and young people at risk of becoming involved in offending.

A local sexual health and contraception service.

A local floating support service that helps 16- 25 year olds who have become homeless and have been given independent accommodation through the council or through children services. The support offered is person centred and can last up to a year. They work with young people with different backgrounds, needs and circumstances such as young families, care leavers, and young people with little support networks.

How to access the service:

 

• Self-referrals are accepted from young people over the phone

 

• Referrals from professionals are also welcome

 

• Priority is given to Brighton and Hove City Council Housing Departments, Children Services, as well as any partner organisations listed on the Brighton & Hove housing or accommodation pathway

 

• They aim to acknowledge referrals within 24 hours if the client is in crisis or within 48 hours for standard support

Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project (BUCFP) was set up in 1981 and is a registered charity. BUCFP provide practical support, education, advice, lunch clubs and much more to the unemployed, those in poor living conditions, benefit claimants, pensioners, families and those on low incomes.

A national organisation that provides free and confidential sexual health advice and services specifically for young people under 25 yrs of age.

Information and support about bullying including general advice, cyber bullying, and advice for parents and schools.
