Nomadic life is not illegal, and travellers have a basic right to this way of life. The council recognises that this has to be balanced with the rights of the general public to enjoy private and public land. The council provides information about the encampments in the area.

Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project (BUCFP) was set up in 1981 and is a registered charity. BUCFP provide practical support, education, advice, lunch clubs and much more to the unemployed, those in poor living conditions, benefit claimants, pensioners, families and those on low incomes.

Meets every Thursday evening (6.30 - 8pm) for people with Ankylosing Spondylitis to undertake informal sessions of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
A variety of activities for children and adults take place throughout the week from Tai- chi to bingo.
Their are halls available for hire if you would like to run your own group or activity.
