The Carers Centre for Brighton & Hove Young Carers Project

Help and support for young carers, including young adult carers aged 16-25 from the Young Carers Project at the Carers Centre for Brighton and Hove.

• Someone to talk to who understands the good and bad bits about looking after someone
• Someone for the person you look after to talk to
• The opportunity to meet with other young carers
• The chance to have a break from caring, to relax and have some fun
• Someone to talk on your behalf and explain what you need
• Someone to talk on behalf of the person you care for and explain what they need
• Your chance to have a voice and say what you think is needed in Brighton and Hove
• The chance to see specialist people who offer you support; nurses, counsellors, life coaches, back care support and many more
• The opportunity to try out new activities and sports
• Opportunities to think about how to cope well and look after yourself as well as the person you look after
• Talking to schools about what they can do to understand and support young carers and help them to put this in place
