The lindy hop is a social dance from the swing dance family, also known as the jitterbug. It evolved in Harlem in New York City in the 1920s and 30s along with the jazz music of that time. Brighton Lindyhoppers are led by Graeme and Amanda and offer beginner, improver and intermediate lindy hop classes. They are devoted lindy hoppers who continue to learn from some of the best teachers in the world, including some of the original dancers from 1930s Harlem. Their aim is to share their enjoyment of lindy hop with as many people as possible. A bunch of happy dancers, Brighton Lindyhoppers are available to teach, perform, laugh, smile and generally make people happy. They are available for weddings, hen parties, community events, school events, corporate functions, club nights, DJing and festivals and can bring a bit of swing to anything.
