Brighton & Hove City Council are committed to protecting your personal information. As a data controller, we have a responsibility to make sure you know why and how your personal information is being collected in accordance with relevant data protection law.
How and why your data will be used
The Estate Development Budget is a discretionary budget that residents can bid on to make improvements to where they live. Your data will be used in the processing of the bids you are making to the Estates Development Budget. Bids are voted on by a panel of residents, however, bids taken to the panel will have their personal information removed.
We may also use your information to contact you in connection to your bid, which may include arranging access to the site you wish to be improved.
If bids are unsuccessful we may use them as a point of reference should the same, or similar, bid be made the following year.
We may also use your data to update our existing records, in the interest of data accuracy.
Our lawful basis for processing data is explicit consent, and performance of a task carried out in the public interest or official authority.
Who we will share your data with
Your bids may be shared internally with teams in Communities, Equalities and Third Sector, or Housing, in order to help with the delivery of projects.
If your bid meets the criteria, we may share your data with Mears, who may also share your data with an external contractor, if they are asked to estimate the cost of carrying out the work.
How long we will hold your data (retention)
Your data will be held for 24 months from when you make an application.
Transferring data outside the European Economic Area
Your information is not processed outside of the European Economic Area.
Purposes and consent
We are collecting your data for the purpose of processing bids made to the Estates Development Budget and making contact in connection with any bids. This will be on the basis of your consent.
