Household Support Fund
Extra help is available for households in Brighton & Hove struggling to pay for food, energy and other essential costs.
About the Household Support Fund
This support is funded by the UK Government through the Department for Work and Pensions Household Support Fund (April 2025 – March 2026).
Extra help is available for households in Brighton & Hove struggling to pay for food, energy and other essential costs this year.
Due to the limited nature of this fund, each household can only receive one award. We cannot accept subsequent applications to this fund from the same household.
The funding does not provide cash. We'll offer vouchers or find another way to help you access essential goods and services.
The funding is also being used to provide food support in the city. This includes vouchers for families who receive free school meals during the holidays, and support available through Best Start Family Hubs and community organisations.
You can find information on help to pay for energy bills and further advice on support with the cost of living on gov.uk.
Due to high levels of demand, we may not be able to help every household that applies. We may also need to contact you to ask for further evidence to support your application.
If you're in any doubt about whether any emails you receive about the fund are real, send an email to communityhubhelp@brighton-hove.gov.uk to check.
