These inset maps show the location and boundaries of the sites and areas of search identified in policies WLP 7 to WLP 10 in Chapter 6.
In most cases a specific site boundary that could accommodate a particular waste facility has been identified on the inset maps. However, in some cases it is more appropriate to identify a wider 'area of search', such as an industrial estate, within which an appropriately sized site could be located. Clearly it is anticipated in these cases that only part of the identified area of search will be required to accommodate the facility.
Both site and area of search boundaries are intended to indicate an area within which a facility or building could be located, including any appropriate landscaping or other measures to reduce potential impacts of the development. They are not intended to represent the footprint of a particular facility or building.
