The railway is currently closed for the winter and will reopen on the 2nd of April
Train times and information
The Railway ceased running for the 2009 season on the 30th of September and will remain closed until the 2010 season.
During the winter closure the staff will be taking the opportunity to carry out maintenance on the line and trains.
During the operating season Trains run every 15 miniutes from the Marina and the Aquarium Stations starting at 10am, then on the hour, quarter past, half past and quarter to the hour.

Every first Saturday of the month from May to September local residents can get a £1 single.

- Family ticket - up to 6 people of which no more than 2 shall be over the age of 16 years

Introduction to the Volks
The Volks Railway was the first public electric railway in the world. It was opened on 4 August 1883 by Magnus Volk. Find out more about our history.
Today the railway can carry up to eighty passengers along the beach for one and a quarter miles.
- there are toilets at both ends of the railway and disabled toilets at the Aquarium Station and in the Marina Station Building
- there are plenty of coach and car parking spaces along Madeira Drive

Where does it go to?
The railway only has three stops, The Aquarium Station, Peter Pan's play ground (half way along Madeira Drive) and Black Rock Station which is only five minutes walk from Brighton Marina.
