The Level Restoration Project - Join us On The Level

Memory Day

We welcome anyone from the local community who is interested in helping us with our plans.

Key to The Level Restoration Project is community involvement. This could be either by becoming a volunteer as part of the Activity Plan [PDF 163KB], or by joining our new Communities of The Level Forum as a community group representative to help guide the park's future development and operation.

How can YOU get involved?

We have now established a 'Communities of The Level Forum'. The group is currently focused on helping plan the opening event programme. See picture above (fourth from left).

We will post meeting minutes here shortly.

  • If you belong to a local community group not represented on the Forum at present, contact us.

We have opportunities in the activities programme to suit all ages, abilities and interests.

These include gardening (working with the city council's park rangers), wildlife and conservation activities, arts and crafts, play sessions, sports and games, history and heritage, surveys, promotional and "behind-the-scenes" help, and much more!

Download our volunteer skills mapping matrix [pdf 30KB] for an idea of some of the possible activities within the various activity areas.

Download, print and pass a poster to anyone you think may be interested -Volunteering on the Level (6MB)

Volunteers will be given all necessary training and support.

Why volunteer?

Volunteers elsewhere in the city tell us they do so for a number of reasons, including:

  • Having fun
  • Learning new skills
  • Helping build personal confidence
  • Extending and sharing knowledge and interests
  • Meeting new people and enhancing social life
  • Boosting CVs
  • Feeling really involved in helping local communities
  • Having the chance (maybe!) to be featured in local media!

What you can do while The Level is closed

The Level is closed for construction until end July. Keep up to date with other city activities and events, such as:
