Public art commission for vehicular gates on Melbourne Street

The call for expressions of interest for the £19,000 Public Art Commission has now closed. The commission was won by the Coombe Farm Collective.

The Coombe Farm Collective is a Brighton based consortium of metal artists, blacksmiths and designers who have come together to produce a gate that reflects the neighbourhood’s links with the railways and the new development of Viaduct Lofts.

One of the artists is Ptolemy Elrington who specialises in hub cap creations www.hubcapcreatures.com

The funding is being provided by the developer Hyde. This funding is part of their planning conditions, through the Section 106 process
