Playgrounds
The council recognises the importance of play as part of children's development, which is shown in the range of equipment in the city's 45 playgrounds.
The largest play areas in Brighton and Hove are at Hove Park, St Ann's Well Gardens, Preston Park and Queens Park. There are also play areas along the seafront, all with water play, at Hove Lagoon, West Pier and Madeira Drive.

Cityparks manages and maintains the play areas to ensure they are clean and safe to use, whilst still challenging for those who use them. All playgrounds are inspected on a regular basis.
- Look out for the new play area at The Level we're creating as part of the park's restoration (work is due to start mid-October 2012 and is due to be complete in the summer season 2013)
- Interested in training as a playworker? It's one of a number of volunteering opportunities in The Level activity plan. Email parksprojects@brighton-hove.gov.uk if you'd like to know more, or call us on 01273 292929

The council is undertaking a two year development programme to improve the quality of the city's play spaces, making them more challenging and innovative for children and teenagers in Brighton and Hove. For more information on this project go to the my play space pages.
The Brighton & Hove Playbus provides exciting and safe play and welcomes children from across the city. We aim to strengthen communities by providing an opportunity for children and adults to interact and make new friends.
