Single Homeless Strategy 2009-2014
The Single Homeless Strategy 2009-2014 was launched on 20 November 2009. It is one of a group of strategies that underpin our work to tackle homelessness and address housing needs in the city.
The Single Homeless Strategy 2009-2014 sets out our vision and strategy for preventing and tackling the causes of homelessness. The strategy also outlines how we should promote social inclusion for single homeless, rough sleepers, ex-offenders and young people at risk, in our city over the next five years.
Six strategic objectives support the vision and strategy:
- reduce rough sleeping to as near to zero as possible
- improve the health and wellbeing of homeless and insecurely housed people
- reduce inequality, social exclusion and disadvantage through learning, skills and employment
- prevent homelessness
- ensure people are able to move on and maximise their independence
- reduce offending and anti-social behaviour
