Foredown future secured

Hove & Adur Sea Cadets are poised to take over running the Foredown Tower in Portslade from the council.

The move follows the approval of a lease that will secure the long term future of the tower as a community facility. It will also be a gateway to the new South Downs National Park.

Culture and recreation councillor David Smith said: “Foredown Tower was not economically viable as a visitor attraction, and this will be a great way of providing a new opportunity for young people in the area. It also ensures that community groups have access to Foredown Tower and the camera obscura.”
