The Mayor's charities and events
Councillor Bill Randall became the current Mayor of Brighton & Hove on the 17 May 2012.
The Mayor actively supports a number of worthy charities which operate in the Brighton and Hove area, servicing the local community and greatly improving the lives of residents in the city. The Mayor's and fundraising events support the following charities:
Allsorts Youth Project
The Allsorts Youth Project provides a range of counselling and advice services for young LGBT people under 26, many of them vulnerable. It also raises awareness about LGBT issues in local schools, colleges and youth projects.
The Martlets Hospice
The Martlets Hospice provides expert clinical care from highly skilled and experienced doctors and nurses through the inpatient unit and the hospice at home service. It's priority is to maintain the peace, respect and dignity of their patients.
Brighton Women's Centre
The Brighton Women's Centre has supported women in Brighton & Hove for more than 35 years and aims to empower women and promote independance in a safe, women-only space.
