Sports Development

Our aim is to support more people to be more active more often. We work to maximise the benefits that sport and physical activity can bring to residents and communities across Brighton & Hove

Our focus is towards developing opportunities to support local residents that are known to participate least. We also work to support local organisations, coaches and volunteers to deliver high quality sport and physical activity opportunities across the city.

Supporting you and your family to lead an active lifestyle

The Sports Development Team can provide advice and guidance on getting more active, as well as signposting you to local opportunities across the city. The team also provides a number of programmes to help residents to get more active:

Support for local sports clubs, coaches and volunteers

There are over 450 different sports clubs and groups in the city. The Sports Development team provides advice and support to those invovled in organising and delivering sport and physical activity in Brighton & Hove. We provide the following support:

SportsWave Newsletter

SportsWave is a newsletter produced by the Sports Development Team to provide updates, information and support on sports development in the city.
