Brighton & Hove is the first local authority in the south east where every school is a healthy school.  We educate young people on the dangers of drug and excessive alcohol consumption and sexually transmitted infections.

A pilot study “Stop, Look and Laugh”. A street-performing 'lollipop team' was used to marshall queues at central Brighton taxi ranks to diffuse tension.

More than 75% of respondents thought the ‘Sussed about drink’ campaign aimed at 16 – 24 year olds got its message across effectively.

Following on from the campaign, we worked with young people to develop two websites: 'Sussed about drink’ and ‘Sussed about drugs'.  They give young people, their parents, adults and professionals facts about drink and drugs.

The CDRP launched their bluetooth service to  to get safety messages to people in nightclubs.

The Youth Offending Team work with young offenders on projects with an artistic and creative focus that attempt to address both their emotional and psychological needs.

As part of Operation Park, PCSOs are trained as football coaches and take mobile football pitches to potential trouble spots around the city.
