Who we are
Based in Hove Town Hall, the Development Control (DC) Service oversees development for a population of more than 250,000, with 3360 listed buildings, in 34 Conservation Areas.
The service is headed by Jeanette Walsh, the Development Control Manager.
Paul Vidler is the Deputy Development Control Manager, and he also manages the Major Developments Team.
The Planning Officers themselves are divided into two Teams, East and West areas, which are headed by Claire Burnett and Nicola Hurley respectively.
Administration is managed by Maria Boyle, and Julie Borer is Information Manager.
The Planning Investigation & Enforcement Team also comes within Development Control. Aidan Thatcher leads the team, which includes four Senior Planning Enforcement Officers who investigate planning complaints across Brighton & Hove.
