Emergency phone numbers

Council offices will be open as normal throughout the festive period except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day – Thursday 25 and Friday 26 December and Thursday 1 January – when they will be closed.

Here are some helplines for emergency council services on the days when we are closed:

Social care services for both children and vulnerable adults:  07699 391 462

Homelessness: call the police on 0845 6070999 in the first instance. Where appropriate, the police can make a referral to the council's emergency Homeless Persons Unit.

Environment problems – 292229. This number is for things like road accidents and floods – not for rubbish collection.
