Description:

Closing date 4 December 2009

The four year Olympiad has started and the countdown to London 2012 is underway. Brighton & Hove City Council is pleased to offer a second opportunity for sports clubs to apply for small amounts of  funding. You can apply for an individual in a club and/or to fund initiatives for current members. Or you can apply for funding to encourage new members to join in.

The grant could fund an individual; helping them reach their full potential or helping them up to move up to the next level in their chosen sport. Or it can be used to buy equipment or provide better facilities for current members. It may also be used to increase participation and encourage new members into the club.

There is a page of guidance and a simple application form to complete. Not everyone will be successful, but we hope that a £250 contribution will help make a difference to athletes across the city, whatever level their sporting ability.

The 2009 grant scheme was launched at the Sport and Physical Activity Awards on 14 October, with a closing date of Friday, 4 December. Decisions will be made by a panel on 12 January. All applicants will be notified after this date whether they have been awarded a grant. If you would like to make an application, the form is available to download and print out below, or contact Pauline Freestone, the 2012 Coordinator, at pauline.freestone@brighton-hove.gov.uk or tel (01273) 293312.
