Healthy Choice Award

Healthy choice logo

We are all eating out more often, making these meals an important part of our diet. On average one in every six meals in the UK is consumed outside the home.

At the same time we are increasingly aware of the impact of our diet on our health. Messages about reducing our intake of salt, sugar and fat have had an impact and many of us know that making small changes can make a big difference.

The Brighton & Hove Healthy Choice Award has been developed to respond to this.

What is the Healthy Choice Award?

The Healthy Choice Award is based on general healthy eating principles. Not everything on the menu needs to be healthy for a restaurant or café to apply. The award is designed to help customers easily identify healthy food choices when eating out - the Healthy Choice Award window sticker is the sign of healthier food!

What is Healthy Choice catering?

Working in partnership with restaurants and cafés, nutritionists help develop healthy choices on their menus: from simple changes like offering salad dressings on the side and fresh fruit desserts, to changing cooking methods to increase nutritional content.
