In line with a longstanding policy intention, and a commitment in the Coalition Agreement, the Government switched off ContactPoint at noon on 6 August 2010. The database has been destroyed using Government approved security standards and processes.

The Government is considering the feasibility of a new signposting service for professionals to help them to support and protect our most vulnerable children, particularly when these children move areas or access services in more than one area.

Brighton & Hove City Council and its partners will continue with its work on integrated working, including the Common Assessment Framework and information sharing to support early prevention and communication between services working with children, young people and their families.
