Plastic bags - re-use them, or better still don't use them!

The council is looking at ways to eliminate plastic bag use in the city, including developing a ‘bag for life’.

The council-sponsored bags were given out to the audience. Everyone can help.

  • try taking your own shopping bags out with you, and
  • using old plastic bags to separate your recycling – they will be returned in your box for you to use again
  • use them as freezer bags
  • place them over young plants to aid germination
  • use to line hanging baskets, or
  • to grow potatoes!
