Request for cycle parking

Request for cycle parking

There is a huge demand for cycle parking across the city and the council takes the provision of these facilities seriously. Approximately 80 Sheffield stands are planned to be installed every year from 2006 until 2011 - in practice, we are usually exceeding this.

With the rising demand for cycle parking in Brighton & Hove, the city council is also keen to reduce incidences of fly parking (cycles attached to street furniture not intended for that purpose).

Reducing fly parking also helps improve the appearance of streets. It also helps reduce street obstructions.

Consideration has been given to identifying innovative ways of providing cycle parking through on-carriageway cycle parking or Pedal Cycle Parking Places (PCPPs).  These can provide a cycle parking solution, especially where the opportunity to place cycle stands in a street is limited.  PCPPs are being trialled in a number of city centre locations. There are plans to install more PCPPs in the coming months.

To suggest a location for cycle parking please fill in the form below. Each request will be considered carefully, taking into account both the suitability of the suggested site - and also which locations offer the greatest benefit to the largest number of people.
