Construction
In Brighton & Hove there were around 860 construction-related businesses operating in 2005. Of these it is estimated that over 90% are micro businesses employing between 1 and 10 people. Around 2,700 construction employees work in the Brighton and Hove area.
According to the Construction Industries Training Board (CITB) figures, craft skills requirements for 2003-2008 in all areas will be only partly met by fully or partly trained workers. A recent Construction Skills report details skills gap issues and training needs in this sector. Please use the link to view the Executive Summary and City View [DOC 47KB].
