Brighton & Hove residents can take small quantities of potentially hazardous household products produced by normal domestic activities to the Hove household waste recycling site. We do not provide a hazardous waste service for businesses

Which types of hazardous waste are accepted?
Small quantities or a maximum of 5 litres of potentially hazardous household products such as those used in cleaning (solvents), gardening (pesticides), DIY (thinners, paint) and car maintenance (engine oil) may be taken to Hove household waste recycling site.
Household & car batteries, asbestos sheets (max. one small load per month) and domestic gas bottles are also accepted.
Inform one of our site staff when you arrive and they will deposit your hazardous waste in the secure store.

What type of asbestos is accepted at Hove household waste site and what amount can I bring in?
Please tel (01273) 765286 before bringing any asbestos to the waste site.
You may bring only a small amount of asbestos per month. It must be bonded asbestos (i.e. sheets) and should be wrapped or double bagged to prevent dust inhalation.
