Jubilee Library

The central library for Brighton & Hove

Jubilee Library exterior

The building

Light, airy and spacious, the library is fully accessible and is one of the most energy efficient public buildings in the country, taking advantage of natural energy provided by sunshine and wind.

The interior design is inspired by cathedral spaces, with the upper floor as a floating carpet of knowledge, tethered by walkways to the shell of the building.

Outside, iridescent tiles recall the mathematical tiles which clad many Sussex buildings.
