How do I get a box?
To order a box or request extra boxes you can complete a recycling box order form online. or contact Cityclean.
Please note: We can only deliver boxes to streets and properties that are suitable for kerbside box recycling and currently receive the recycling service. We cannot provide individual recycling boxes to residents in purpose-built blocks of flats.
What can I recycle in my box?
You can recycle the following materials in your box. Please separate glass and household batteries from all other recycling; it is important glass and batteries are kept in a box on their own or a carrier bag on top of the box. The rest of your recycling does can be mixed together. If you use carrier bags, they will be returned in your box for you to use again.

What happens on a bank holiday?
Check your collection dates on our recycling collection day search page.I live in a block of flats, can I use the kerbside service?
This service is available to residents in some smaller blocks of flats. We are aiming to provide larger purpose-built blocks of flats with their own communal recycling points. If you live in an HMO (house of multiple occupancy - i.e. a house converted into flats) in a street that receives kerbside recycling, you will be able to use the service.
If you currently do not use the service, please contact Cityclean to see if the service is available in your property. In some cases we may have to make a site visit to assess your property for suitability. If the property is not suitable for kerbside recycling, it will be considered for the communal recycling service.
Collections for older or disabled residents
If you are unable to move your recycling box we can offer an assisted collection. For further information contact Cityclean, stating that you need the service and where you would like the boxes collected from. Please note that we are unable to collect the boxes from inside buildings. My road isn't included yet - why not?
Kerbside recycling has now been rolled out to all accessible and suitable roads in Brighton & Hove. Some roads in the City are not suitable for kerbside recycling. This may be because the street is narrow and therefore difficult for our kerbside vehicles to access, some streets are in very busy shopping and commercial areas. We will be looking at these streets in 2006 to decide the best way to provide recycling to residents in these areas. In the meantime we would like to encourage residents to still recycle as much of their waste as possible and to use the recycling sites around the City. Why take part?
You can recycle over 60% of your waste by using the kerbside service. This means 60% less waste going to landfill. By recycling waste to make new products we save natural resources.
Try to reduce and reuse your waste as well as recycling.
