Situated in Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, Brighton History Centre holds an extensive range of material for the study of the city's history and culture.

Tuesday: 10am-7pm
Wednesday to Saturday: 10am-5pm
Closed Sunday, Monday and Bank Holidays

Change of opening times

Starting 1 September 2009, new opening times will be Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm

The Centre can be accessed via the garden entrance to Brighton Museum and is located on the first floor.

  • The Centre is accessible by lift and is suitable for wheelchair users.
  • A small number of lockers are provided within the centre for customers' belongings.
  • Cloakroom facilities are sited at various points throughout the building.
  • Light refreshments are available in the Balcony Café from 10am to 4pm.
