Do my business rates cover collection of trade refuse?
Your rates do not include collection of refuse generated as a result of business or commercial activities. It is the responsibility of the trader or business to securely store and employ a licensed waste disposal contractor to remove and dispose of their refuse at the appropriate disposal point. Failure to comply can lead to heavy fines. Please see our webpages on business and charity recycling and refuse collections for further information.

I have an empty property, am I exempt from Business Rates?
You may be entitled to rates relief if you have an empty property. Further information is available from the council's Business Rates Team on (01273) 291981 and the Valuation Office Agency's business rate pages.
