How much does it cost to get married?
The fees are currently set each year in April. Get details of our current register office fees and charges.
How can I obtain a replacement birth certificate?
If the birth occurred within Brighton & Hove we will be able to provide you with a replacement birth certificate, and would need the following information:
* date of birth
* place of birth
* full names of the person at birth (if the person is known to have been legally adopted please telephone for advice)
* father's full names
* mother's full names
* mother's maiden surname
If you are applying by post we will need a cheque or postal order payable to 'Brighton & Hove City Council', a daytime contact telephone number and a self adressed envelope.
If you are applying in person we will accept cash, cheque, credit or debit card, we also take applications over the telephone using a debit/credit card.
Applications using our standard service will take 5 working days to process. Applications using our 'Priority' service will be processed the same day.
