Jobcentre Plus ~ Into Work Team
If you’re taking up work after claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance or Income Support, Brighton and Hove Jobcentre Plus has a dedicated call number to their Into Work Team for you to use
Telephone - (01273) 647637
Textphone - 0845 608 8551
Please note that this number is only for people who are starting work following a claim for Jobseekers Allowance or Income Support. If you call this number to make another enquiry you will be asked to redial.
When you call this number staff at the Jobcentre Plus office will take the details of your new job. If you also have a claim for Tax Credits, Housing Benefit (HB) or Council Tax Reduction (CTR), they will also take details from you to pass on to the Tax Credit Office and Brighton & Hove City Council. By calling this one number, you won’t need to inform the council and the Tax Credit Office separately about your new job. You can make a new claim for in-work Tax Credits over the phone in the same call. If you want to make an in-work claim for Housing or Council Tax Reduction, the Jobcentre Plus office will tell the council that you wish to claim and will advise you on what information the council will need to assess your in-work HB/CTR claim.
